I have been doing battle with my refrigerator for 2 months now. Our attempts at having it repaired have not worked so far, and I am definitely getting frustrated. We are keeping a very close on the temperature gauge inside the fridge to make sure it is staying cold enough, otherwise we have to manually defrost it. Hope we can get it working soon!

A girl can never have enough jewelry! A few of my favorite necklaces, some of which have some sentimental value as they once belonged to my grandmother.

Remember how I mentioned that I had to pick my husband up from the airport yesterday? He had been on a week-long business trip. His first stop was New Orleans, LA, where he got me some cool souveniers, including these beautiful Mardi Gras masks. How cool and beautiful are they? While part of me wants to tie one on and wear it for fun, I think I will hang them up in our house instead, and I've already got the perfect spot for them. :-)

Running behind....

It has been an insane couple of days! A husband to pick up at the airport who is now sick, a baby shower I hosted and made a cake for, another cake decorating class, and everything else that is typically part of a busy life. I am on top of my picture-taking, but way behind on the blogging. Some of the pictures are almost ready to upload, so look for lots of catching up tonight! But just wanted to let you know I am still here and keeping up with my 365.... :-)

It's been quite a busy week for me, especially the end of the week. So while I am behind on posting my photos, I didn't skip on the actual photo taking! This image was taken on a day that was particularly busy for me, so I was grasping for something to photograph at the very end of the day. Working on filling the frame again and with manual settings, I captured this image of a basket hanging in my kitchen.

Godiva chocolates.... figured I should take a picture of the pretty array of goodies before I tore into them. Trust me... they won't last long. :-)

A quick side note, aside from making myself use manual settings again, I was working on trying to "fill the frame." Something I'm trying to look for more often.

Today was one of those "I wish I had my camera with me..." days. My husband and I went out with some friends tonight, and while I knew there would be some good photo ops where we were going, it was also one of those situations where you weren't sure you really wanted to be stuck carrying a camera around with you all night. So I reluctantly left the camera at home, missed some cool shots, and ended up taking this photo of a warm fuzzy winter accessory when I got home. If my cell phone had a better camera, maybe I would have used that, but as it was, I had nothing. What do you do when you are unsure about whether to bring a camera with you somewhere?

Ahhh... the dream of spring. Of course it is snowing outside as I write this, and the Groundhog, Punxsatawney Phil , announced today that spring will be delayed for another six weeks. Bummer. Until then, I will be trying to stay warm and reading about all the fun things that will come with the warmer weather!

On a side note, I did something I usually don't do with this picture - I shot my camera on full manual mode. As I've been taking pictures this past month, I've been paying more and more attention to the settings the camera is choosing for certain shots, and I knew what settings I "needed" the camera to have for this picture to turn out the way I envisioned. Hopefully I can do this more often!

In case you can't tell what the object in this photo is, it is one of the attachments for my Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I spent a LOT of time with my mixer tonight, working on a confectionary masterpiece for my husband's 30th birthday party this weekend. I had taken a number of photos of my adventures in baking tonight, but spotted this whisk attachment when I was finishing kitchen clean-up and knew it would end up being the winning photo for the day.

These poor tools have been sitting out for a while... tried to fix something in the house... didn't work. Never got them put away. Wish my husband and I were better with these things. :-)

Yesterday was seriously lacking inspirational material for me. I tried. Hard. And it just wasn't happening. Sometimes I would see "something" and grab my camera, and once I checked out the photo, it just didn't look the same as it did in my head. I'm not sure if that was due to my lack of experience or just delusions in my head, but regardless, I was worried I might have to go to bed picture-less. I finally snapped this photo while I was making myself some tea, and decided that it would have to do for the day's photo. Not my best but it will do.
