Our first wedding of the season. Our friends, Fred and Lauren, had a beautiful wedding at the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront. I only brought my smaller point & shoot camera, so most of my images didn't turn out as well in the lower light situations. Even this one was a bit blurry, but I loved the interaction between the bride & groom and the beautiful harbor backdrop that I chose it over the other "better quality" pictures.

Our friends invited us out to a winery tour in Western Maryland. We got a brief tour of the winery followed by a private wine tasting in a tent behind the vinyards. Good thing we were under a tent in the shade because it was a hot day! We spent the rest of the afternoon with a few chilled bottles, enjoying the sun setting behind the winery. I had taken a few photos of the winery and the wine tasting, but thought this one of our friend, Keith, with a butterfly catcher [have no clue who brought this!] was more fun.

My first infant "session"! Actually it wasn't much of a session.... more like a few minutes of me grabbing some photos of one of my best friend's newborn baby. But it was still my first experience photographing babies, and since little Kyle was sleeping most of the time that we were visiting him, that made him pretty easy to photograph. Isn't he adorable? He is only a few days old, but I am glad a got a couple photos of him before we leave for our trip since by the time we have a chance to see him again he will be almost a month old! Congrats again, Tracy and David, on such a beautiful new addition to your family!

Today I was one of three ladies who hosted a baby shower for one of my best friends, Tracy. Her baby boy is due to arrive in the end of April, so the shower was a little early, but it was one of the only weekends that would work for everyone. Such busy schedules to work around! My primary role for the shower was, you guessed it, dessert! I made a cute baby block cake and some baby cookies which we handed out as favors to all the guests. Check out the cake on my other blog! This picture was one of my favorites from the afternoon. I love how the afternoon sun was reflected on Tracy's face from the Dr. Suess book. I was doing my best to work with the available light that afternoon, and I was really happy with how the photos turned out. Best wishes for your last 2 months of pregnancy and for a healthy baby boy, Tracy!

Last night we had a girls only outing at the Pottery Stop in Ellicott City. Stacey, pictured here in red, came up with the idea and was nice enough to arrange everything for all of us. Most of us attending were quite up front about our lack of artistic abilities in the drawing area, so it was a good thing that the store workers were so friendly and helpful! Of course, we still don't know what our final pieces will look like since once you are done painting them, you have to leave them there for a week to be fired and glazed. But everyone's items seemed like they should turn out great! Can't wait to see the finished products next weekend! Read more...

28-135mm lens @ 41mm, f/4.0, 1/60, ISO 400 w/bounce flashThere was a massive approaching snowstorm last night, and sadly another February birthday party was scheduled for our friend, Sean. Since we have an SUV with 4-wheel drive, we went ahead and ventured out to the party for a few hours to have some fun before getting snowed in the rest of the weekend! Ironically, the party was supposed to be a Hawaiian-themed party. I couldn't muster up the courage to wear my warm-weather "Hawaiian" clothes, but both my husband and the birthday boy came dressed in their island-finest! Despite the snow, we all had a great time. Happy Birthday, Sean!
