My husband and I finally celebrated our wedding anniversary today by doing some bike riding and tubing in the historic town of Harpers Ferry, WV. Since it was not practical to bring along the big dSLR camera, I brought my smaller point and shoot along instead to capture a few images from our celebratory outing. This image was taken on a school bus while we were waiting to be driven to the area where we were going to put our tubes in the water. It was a fun day and the tubing was so relaxing! A fun way to celebrate together.

Being that it was our first day back home after our trip to Germany, I was tired. I had gone to work a full day, making me a little bit cranky by the end of the day, and everything was pretty much still packed into suitcases, including my camera. So to grab a photo for the day, I grabbed the easiest thing to get my hands on - the point & shoot. There was a cool moon out that night that I was trying to capture, but the point & shoot won't capture a low light situation like the SLR will, so this was as good as it got. I went ahead and did some more digital editing to enhance the fuzzy, watercolor-like feeling of the image and ended up with this.

I'm back! Did you miss me? Just kidding, but if you did, I'm flattered. :-) Well we made it to Germany, Austria and back, despite Icelandic volcanoes spewing ash and threatening European air travel over the past month. We were nervous that our flight to Frankfurt, Germany would be cancelled, but luckily our flight was on time as you can tell from today's photo. Since we spent almost our entire day on a plane, finishing with a red-eye flight that had us arriving in Frankfurt's airport at 6am Germany time, the only photo ops I had were airport related. Hopefully it won't take me tooooo long to catch up from the 3 weeks we were away!

I have a confession.... I cheated.... on my digital SLR, that is! This picture was taken with my Canon SD600 point-and-shoot. Now don't get me wrong, I love my pocket-size Canon, but I LOVE my Canon dSLR. Part of my current dilemma is that my dSLR is not very conducive to carrying around with me to and from work all day long. And I'm getting a little tired of trying to find inspiration at home... by the time I get home from work it is dark outside and I'd like to be able to take my photos any time of day. So since my SD600 was in my work bag, I grabbed this shot at the gym before starting my workout. Do you ever feel guilty for choosing one camera over another?
