January 17 - 17/365

What do you photograph on a dreary, rainy day in January? Water. Somewhere. Somehow. I was trying to figure out what to do when I noticed all the water drops collecting on a bench on our back deck - bingo! My husband laughed at me as I crouched on a tarp and towel on my back deck (so as not to get wet) to get just the right angle and zoom of these water droplets. I may have looked silly taking this picture, but it was well worth the effort. :-)

So appropriate for today! Nice shot...& silly husband! What lens?
Silly husband indeed... he confessed that he was looking for my point & shoot camera to capture me "in action" hunched on the ground in an awkward position... glad he didn't find it! :-)
I just used my kit lens - Canon EF 18-55mm IS using it at max zoom, 55mm.
Nice shot, really like the DOF, suprised how shallow it is with that lens. I'm also hoping for better weather, well Ok for a better season really.
Thanks shotslot! I, too, am looking forward to better weather
FYI- I double checked the stats on the shot...
49mm, ISO 400, f5.6, 1/50
I not only had the camera zoomed in, but was also close up to the "subject"... seems to make the DOF more shallow
I really want a 50mm f1.8 lens, but am using that as an incentive for keeping up with the project :)
I realy like thise one : you've been able to make a wonderful picture with, well, the back of a bench in a rainy day!
Nice shot... i might use the idea some days...
terrific shot regardless of how goofy you may have looked, it was worth it!
