I shot photos for a business event that my husband's company was sponsoring. Everyone at the party was given "drink tickets" for free drinks when they showed up... obviously good marketing! A shot of my husband handing out the drink tickets....

Today's photo was taken on an organized photo walk with my photography group. Our challenge was to try and capture images that represented "city life". I tried to think out of the box with this theme, thinking of things other than just people, such as these Baltimore newspapers piled up outside someone's gate.

I've been travelling for work quite a bit recently. Luckily the travel is relatively local, but it has meant a few overnight stays at a hotel. Not a big deal, but it will be nice to work in my own office and sleep in my own bed again soon.

I have been doing battle with my refrigerator for 2 months now. Our attempts at having it repaired have not worked so far, and I am definitely getting frustrated. We are keeping a very close on the temperature gauge inside the fridge to make sure it is staying cold enough, otherwise we have to manually defrost it. Hope we can get it working soon!

Tried playing around with bokeh tonight, but the results didn't turn out quite like I had hoped. An experiment I will have to play with again another day...

I attended a wedding today for one of my good friends, Leela. The ceremony was beautiful, and the bride and groom looked so happy. Congratulations, Leela and Tom, and best wishes for a lifetime of happiness together!

So my posts are a bit out of order... I guess that's what happens when you don't keep up with your project! But this photo was taken during a family reunion we went to this weekend for my husband's family. Their last name has a Scottish origin, and everyone attending the reunion was given a pin to wear that has the family's crest on it with their motto "Over Fork Over." This image is a shot of my husband wearing his pin.

My new job has been taking up considerably more of my time than my old job. Unfortunately, this extra demand on my time is starting to creep into my personal time, including the amount of time I have to devote to photography. Today was one of those days where I was super busy and didn't get around to taking a photo. This isn't the first time this has happened in the project. Let's face it - this project is demanding, and when you spend most of your time at work and doing daily things around the house, there isn't always something that inspires you to grab your camera. If I was a little more creative, maybe this wouldn't be such a problem. But lately, after 200+ days into the project, I'm struggling with the creativity part of this project. So today, there is no photo. Instead, I've decided to go into my photo archives and choose a different photo to replace the "hole". Afterall, during the course of this project, the amount of actual photos taken is MUCH more than 365. But only one is presented each day. So for the days that I never seem to get around to grabbing my camera, I will be posting an image from my archives instead. It's not the perfect solution, but it's better than completely giving up. And after all, it's my project, so I make the rules. :-)

Nothing puts a damper on a weekend at the beach than a weekend full of rain. We had a trip to Ocean City, MD, planned months in advance to celebrate my friend Leela's upcoming wedding. Too bad that after all those insanely hot days we have been having this summer, the one weekend we plan to go to the beach it rains. But we still made sure that the bride-to-bed had a great time!
